Chambers Island - Port Inglis
Location

Chambers Island is situated on Florida's Nature Coast, at the mouth of the Withlacoochee River in Yankeetown, Florida. Its 3,000 feet of direct frontage on the Gulf of Mexico provides outstanding and impressive water views from many points on the island.

This part of Florida is still relatively un-developed, making it the perfect location for a peaceful retreat.
Yankeetown is between the quaint fishing village of Cedar Key (20 miles north) and the clear springs of Crystal River (11 miles south). Ocala is an hour to the east; Tampa is 11/2 hours to the south, accessible via the Suncoast Parkway, a limited-access highway.
The remote Waccasassa Bay, with unmatched fishing for redfish and trout, lies to the north. The Bay is part of the Big Bend Seagrass Aquatic Preserve. In addition, virtually the entire coastline, from Port Inglis to Cedar Key, is permanently preserved by the state as the Waccasassa Bay Preserve State Park. This greatly limits any development, which keeps the fishing pressure low, your fishing uncrowded, and your catches abundant.
Immediately south of Chambers Island is the Majorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway State Recreation and Conservation Area. This conservation area surrounds the island's east and south sides, leaving Chambers Island the largest of the very few private islands remaining in this area.

South of here are the waters of Crystal Bay, where scallops lay waiting in the shallow grass flats for your family to harvest and enjoy.
